Welcome to the SYP Press Section, where we post all the cuttings that have featured the SYP in the national press and the world wide web. If you spot a news story featuring the SYP, you can send it to links@thesyp.org.uk as a hyperlink, jpeg, or pdf.

SYP and The Equalities Charter - The SYP has been involved in the drafting of the UK Publishing Equalities Charter in order to outline specific actions to help increase diversity fairness in publishing. Here, the Huffington Post comments about the charter and its strides toward fair publishing standards.

New SYP Committee - Booksellers.com notes the recent changing of the guard for the 2010 SYP committee and names some of its heads.

Bookcareers.com Initiative to Continue -Those in the book publishing industry who have lost their jobs or are currently under going prolonged unemployment can find help with the Bookcareers Initiative. In a recent press release, SYP Chair Kathryn Lanley is cited as a success story and comments positively, saying "As someone who has experienced this initiative, I can say with honesty that it works. I found a long sought after job after just one month of being involved. It's run for the industry, by an expert on the industry."

English Pen - The nonprofit English Pen works to promote literature and human rights by a variety of functions. It is run by a team of volunteers, one of which is the SYP's own Nicola Crossley. Here she comments on why English Pen is important.
