Oxford Committee 2009

Chair
Alan Crompton is in charge of the Oxford SYP committee, chairs the committee meetings, thinks up new ideas for regional events and introduces the speakers at SYP Oxford speaker meetings.

Treasurer
Chris Boor helps the SYP Oxford committee with keeping track of finances, by helping take payments at speaker meetings, keeping on top of expenses and income, and handling the Oxford accounts.

Web Editor
Robbie Cooke maintains the control of the Oxford part of the SYP website, editing the content, arranging advertising opportunities, and carrying out updates. He is also in charge of planning and developing the website for the SYP annual conference being held in Oxford in 2009.

InPrint Liaison
Sasha Cooper keeps in contact with the London InPrint team, concentrating on writing and arranging articles to ensure that Oxford events get a mention in the magazine. Contact Sasha to get involved with InPrint.

Publicity and Marketing Coordinators
Harriet Ayles and Sara-Louise Cain make sure our events are known about through creating posters, and other materials, communicating the SYP 'brand' to universities, publishers and related organisations, and undertaking publicity activities.

Social Co-ordinators
Jonathan Bargus and Gareth Malna are responsible for organising all the pub crawls, social events and anything else that to feeds (or quenches!) your interest in the social side to Oxford publishing.

Event Co-ordinator
Kate Gambles is responsible for organising the monthly speaker meetings and other events, deciding what topics are hot, what topics are not, and picking out the best speakers to talk about the important – and interesting – professional and social aspects of publishing.

Membership Secretary
Rachel Turner is the first point of contact for all members, keeps them updated with goings on, maintains our membership database and provides a familiar face for members at their first speaker meetings and socials.

A new position for this year, Annie Rose is overseeing the planning, organisation and running of the SYP annual conference to be held in Oxford in November.

Brookes Liaison
Felicity Radford helps the Publicity and Events Co-ordinators by promoting SYP events around the university and booking Brookes rooms as necessary. She is the first point of contact for publishing students in Oxford.
