Meet the people who run the Society of Young Publishers

Oxford Committee 2007

Chair
Jo Godfrey is in charge of the Oxford SYP committee, chairs the committee meetings, thinks up new ideas for regional events and introduces the speakers at SYP Oxford speaker meetings.

Secretary
Clare Caruana looks after our administrative tasks, which include taking minutes at committee meetings and conference meetings, writing agendas and following up after committee meetings.

Treasurer
Kate Hind helps the SYP Oxford committee with keeping track of finances, by helping take payments at speaker meetings, keeping on top of expenses and income, and handling the Oxford accounts.

Web Editor
Michelle Brister maintains the control of the Oxford part of the SYP website, editing the content and design and making sure that updates are carried out as necessary.

InPrint Liaison
Faith McDonald keeps in contact with the London InPrint team, concentrating on writing and arranging articles to ensure that Oxford events get a mention in the magazine. To get involved with InPrint, perhaps to write articles, feel free to email Faith.

Brookes Liaison
Claire Williams helps the Publicity and Events Co-ordinators by promoting SYP events around the university and booking Brookes rooms as necessary. She is usually the first point of contact for students.

Publicity Co-ordinator
Sophia Blackwell makes sure our events are known about through creating posters, communicating with universities and publishers and undertaking publicity activities.

Amy Jackson
and Alan Crompton
are responsible for organising all the speaker meetings, pub crawls, social events and anything to feed your interest in the Oxford publishing scene.

Oxford Recruitment and Membership Liaison
Kate Leech has responsibility for raising the awareness of publishers and individuals in Oxford about the Oxford branch of the SYP as well as encouraging more people to join the society.

Book Club Co-ordinator
Emily McLeod concentrates on making the SYP Oxford Book Club even bigger and better for 2008, by organising times and dates, venues, discussion materials and reading lists.
