Co-chair
Gareth Malna shares responsibility for the Oxford SYP committee, along with Harriet Ayles. Together they chair the committee meetings, think up new ideas for regional events and introduce the speakers at SYP Oxford speaker meetings.
Interesting fact: Once got a girl to go on a date with him by pretending to be related Jason Statham!

Treasurer and Membership Secretary
Jennie Courage helps the SYP Oxford committee by keeping track of finances, helping take payments at speaker meetings, keeping on top of expenses and income, and handling the Oxford accounts. Jennie is also the first point of contact for all members, keeps them updated with the goings on, maintains our membership database and provides a familiar face for members at their first speaker meetings and socials.
Interesting fact: Once crashed her car going the wrong way down a one way street. Jennie has since re-calibrated her GPS!

Web Secretary
Jonathan Davis maintains the control of the Oxford pages of the SYP website, editing the content, promoting events on the website, Facebook, Twitter, etc., and carrying out updates.
Interesting fact: Once had a habit of riding into the back of parked cars on his bike. He now narrowly avoids the moving ones!

InPrint Liaison
Hollie Teague keeps in contact with the London InPrint team, concentrating on writing and arranging articles to ensure that Oxford events get a mention in the magazine. Contact Hollie to get involved with InPrint.

Events and Publicity Coordinators
Chris Boor and Viki Mortimer make sure Oxford's events are known about through creating posters, and other materials, communicating the SYP 'brand' to universities, publishers and related organisations, and undertaking publicity activities. Together they also invite professionals from the industry to share their thoughts and experiences about what it means to work in publishing. Contact Chris and Viki with your suggestions for speakers.

Social Events Secretary
Kate Hind is responsible for organising all the pub crawls, social events and anything else that feeds (or quenches!) your interest in the social side to Oxford publishing. Kate also helps Chris and Viki organise the monthly speaker meetings, deciding what topics are hot, what topics are not, and picking out the best speakers to talk about the important – and interesting – professional and social aspects of publishing.
Interesting fact: Once went paragliding in the middle of a hail storm and was feared dead by her friends!

Oxford Brookes University Liaison
Polly Silk and Aaron O'Dowling Keene are responsible for promoting SYP events around the university and booking rooms on the campus as and when necessary. These lovely ladies are the first point of contact for publishing students in Oxford.
Interesting fact: Once, and most likely still able to touch her nose with her tongue!

Viki Mortimer and Chris Boor help publicise the events that SYP Oxford hold on a monthly basis. Along with Kate Hind, Viki and Chris come up with new ideas for training events, special guest evenings and make sure everyone 'has a laugh!'
Interesting fact: Once dated (not at the same time) two different people that looked very much like Harry Potter. Something of a 'literal' connection!
